Smart Reconstruction Solutions for Industrial Establishments-ILO project

This project is introduced as part of the smart reconstruction process in Gaza strip and will focus on providing technical assistance to group of industrial factories to develop, improve productivity, generate more jobs and increase their market share and penetrate more international markets. As well as, it is a part of cooperated project between ILO and IUG which is “Enhancing the Employability of engineering students and alumni of IUG through better Linkages with the Private Sector ".

The company is mainly producing brooms with a diverse collection of products ranging from soft to rough tufts with plastic or wood handles and used for sweeping, scrubbing, hand brushing to name a few. The factory originally was operating with three distinct production lines. The first line was producing the plastic tufts either soft or rough. The second one was producing the plastic heels while the third one was producing the wooden parts either as handles or heels. The company was one of the main brooms & brushes provider to the local market. However, during the 2014 war the factory was completely damaged and the three production lines were destroyed. The company benefited from the Palestinian Market Development Program to help the affected companies get back to business. The company is now operating with minimum capacities and depends highly on outsourced parts.
